Our Teachers

BUGS teachers are chosen for their education and experience with young children. All teachers and administration are CPR and First Aid Certified, have had Kansas Bureau of Investigation background checks, are trained in Safe Sleep Practices, Child Development, Signs & Symptoms of Illness and receive a minimum of ten hours of annual training. Most importantly, our teachers are passionate about the happiness and education of the young child.

Staff retention is a priority at BUGS. We feel it is extremely important in providing our children and families the best possible experience. Administrative staff works together with the teaching staff to make sure they have all the resources and materials they need. We also offer a competitive salary along with paid time off and holiday pay for our full time staff.

We consider it a privilege to partner with our families in establishing daily routines that incorporate individual children’s needs and enjoy constant communication about each milestone they reach.

Our Schedule

Each classroom follows an age appropriate daily routine. This routine includes circle time, small group learning centers and activity centers, outdoor play, story time, quiet time and special activities. Occasional field trips are also planned for the Pre-K classroom. Each child’s routine and needs is communicated through daily take home sheets. BUGS ensures that we offer all our children a healthy nutritious breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snack.

Our Curriculum

At BUGS, we want your child to benefit as much as possible from the tools we have at hand, as well as the tools the world around them provides. We use an age appropriate whole-theme curriculum that targets the developmental needs of our students. It encourages curiosity and learning while promoting social interaction and growth. We have a Curriculum Specialist on staff who works with our teachers to create weekly lesson plans which incorporate all aspects of learning including language & literacy, social studies, math, science and the fine arts. We believe that children learn best through play, so we focus on creating well-rounded, daily experiences to ensure your child gains new insights and acquires new knowledge every time they come to school.
